Lending Support in Wake of Hurricane Devastation
Regions of the country hit hard by powerful hurricanes Harvey and Irma are home to many Tractor Supply stores. As a company that values the importance of giving back and helping our neighbors, Tractor Supply stepped in to help these communities in their time of great need, both at the local level as well as at the corporate level.
At the local level, our stores reopened as quickly as possible for our customers so we could supply much-needed products such as animal feed and pet food. In many cases, our stores reopened without electricity, with team members using flashlights to show customers around the stores. Our team members also volunteered to help rebuild the affected communities, and we donated supplies to help in the rebuilding efforts.
When Hurricane Harvey left areas of Texas and Louisiana devastated, Tractor Supply made a cash donation to the American Red Cross to help the victims of this disaster. Additionally, we donated TSC gift cards to more than thirty pet and animal organizations in affected communities. We also worked with several key vendors – Cargill, Diamond Pet Foods, Nestle Purina, Purina Animal and TLC Premium Horse Bedding – to deliver truckloads of donated product including pet food, cattle cubes and shavings. Team members worked at all hours of the day and night to help get these products to those who needed them most.
Just a few weeks later, Hurricane Irma struck Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, and Tractor Supply sprung into action, making donations of cash and products. For example, we donated TSC gift cards to more than 130 pet and animal organizations across 11 store districts. We worked with Honeywell to deliver 300 pairs of rubber boots to a church in Everglades City, Florida, and delivered pelletized bedding to the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center in Tryon, North Carolina. These are just a few examples of the ways TSC and our team members responded to help our local communities.
Our business is driven by our commitment to our Mission and Values, which includes a commitment to doing the right thing. Lending a hand to the communities we serve is just one small way in which we can give back to those who give us so much.
